What are your store hours?
We are open Tues-Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Saturday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. We host special events on Sunday, and we are closed Monday. Cake consultations are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday with the first appointment at 3:00 and the last at 6:00, and Saturday at either 1:00 or 2:00.
How do cake consultations work?
Cake consultations for wedding cakes are by appointment only and reserved to 4 people. Cake samples will be provided and a quote will be written up based on your design/theme. Cake consults are usually no longer than an hour.
What should I bring to my consultation?
A prepared bride is always appreciated and makes it easier for the pastry chefs to get a feel for your vision for the event. Feel free to bring photos, color options or even send us your Pinterest boards.
How much notice do you need for cake orders?
We usually require 1 week notice on specialty cakes, and 2-4 months is recommended for wedding cakes but not required, however we do book quickly for many weekends . All other baked goods (cookies, pastries, cupcakes, cake pops, cutouts, etc.) usually require less time. Anything is possible, give us a call and ask!
What are my payment options?
We accept cash, check, mastercard and visa (there is a 3% surcharge added for credit cards).
Where do you deliver wedding cakes and do you have a delivery fee?
Delivery locations depend on the number of deliveries we have scheduled for each weekend. However, we typically go anywhere in Monroe and Ontario county, as well as the Finger Lakes region. There is a delivery fee, which will depend on the location. Local deliveries to Victor are free.
How much do your cakes cost?
Wedding cakes begin at $4.00 per slice for buttercream and $5.00 for rolled fondant. The final cost will depend on the detail involved with each cake. Single-tiered cakes start at $3.00 per slice for buttercream and $4.00 for fondant. Two or more-tiered cakes start at $4.00 per slice for buttercream and $5.00 per slice for fondant. Due to the large variety of standard- and sculpted-cake designs, the final price will be based on the complexity of the design and number of people to be served. Please send your design via email or feel free to call for a price quote.
We also offer the option of "kitchen" cakes, which provides the option of a smaller presentation cake with additional cake available "in the kitchen" to provide all guests with a slice of the selected cake flavors. These cakes are priced at a lower cost because they do not have the decorative elements present in the main display cake. Kitchen cakes provide more flexibility and options to work within any budget (starting $2.50 per slice).
What flavor cakes do you make?
The sky's the limit! we have a suggested flavor page of cake flavors and fillings, but will make specialty suggestions upon request, price may fluctuate due to the flavor choice. We also do gluten and dairy free cakes upon request but we are not a dairy free facility.
What icing options do you have?
We use buttercream, rolled fondant, ganache (fudge) and whipped cream. We do not use whipped cream on wedding cakes.
What is rolled fondant?
Fondant is a sugar icing, almost like an edible playdough. It tastes like marshmallow, and offers a clean beautiful smooth look to finish your cake. Every bakers fondant is different so be sure to ask for a taste! We have had a lot of people say they don't like it but then change their minds after tasting it. When applied correctly to a cake it will be a THIN finish over the buttercream that is applied to the cake FIRST. Most sculpted and molded cakes do need the use of fondant to finish the look.
Do you ship/deliver your products?
We do NOT ship cakes specialty cakes or cupcakes due to how fragile they are, cake pops and cookies will ship if packed well but you will need to send it yourself. We do deliver cookie trays, pastries, cake pops as gifts ($25 minimum) to your loved ones or clients but will need a few days notice to prepare the order. Delivery fee is based on location.
Will you prepare special requests not on your menu?
Yes, we will do our best to accommodate an item we may not have on our menu. The best thing to do it you don't see it.? Ask us!
